Rachael is currently the Job Captain and Construction Administration lead for our Avalon Hayes Valley Market Rate Housing project. Her focus on this project is managing the day to day interactions with the construction team and engaging the team in innovative BIM practices to produce a building that is both well designed and well built. Rachael's interest in joining Pyatok is to work with a firm that has a true social mission in helping to solve the social and economic complexities in multi-family developments. By joining the firm, her creativity and technological mindset has become an asset as well as achieves her goal of working on high density housing projects in the Bay Area.
Prior to Pyatok, Rachael was a Job Captain at Bull Stockwell Allen where she focused on designing interiors for ski resorts and senior living facilities. During this time she developed a strong knack for building codes, especially in skilled nursing facilities, and BIM/Revit expertise. Through her passion for understanding the power of BIM/Revit as a key design tool, Rachael instituted an in-house design and technology committee that focused on integrating technology with the design process to maximize creativity and achieve project efficiencies. In addition, she assisted in the efforts to develop marketing materials that garnered the firm several design projects.
Supporting Rachael's desire to design for a social cause, she led a team in close collaboration with Tipping Mar for the first CANstruction design and build competition in 2011; her team's project, made entirely from canned food that is later donated to local food banks, was recognized for "Best Structural Integrity" and featured in an art exhibition in San Francisco. Rachael holds a B.Arch from Cornell University; she has a devoted appetite for live music and spending her weekend in the great outdoors.
