As a designer, Ray is inspired by the speed of entrepreneurial and technological innovation. The notion of “fail, forward, fast” encourages him to continually push himself outside of his comfort zone. He is passionate about learning and excited to use BIM to improve the design process. He believes the social and environmental impacts of a project are equally as important as the design.
Before joining Pyatok, Ray worked for Architectural firms that specialized in education and multifamily rehabilitation. Architecture is his “second career,” having spent nearly a decade working in advertising and marketing communications before pursuing graduate studies in architecture. He is an avid photographer, an active member of BAYA (AIASF’s Emerging Professional’s group), and volunteers for Habitat for Humanity working on multifamily projects throughout the Bay Area.
Ray holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and his M.Arch from the University of Oregon.
