The Leona Quarry is a major landmark on the East Bay Hills. The owner has undertaken a massive reclamation plan to stabilize and re-plant the main slopes, and to create a new medium density development of 600 units on the lower 1/3 of the site adjacent to Highway 580. Pyatok Architects worked with a team of geotechnical, civil engineer, landscape restoration and hydrological consultants to develop a master plan of the reclamation. Pyatok Architects led four workshops, including hands on workshops with very active, organized neighborhood groups, to study alternate development arrangements. |
