Adjacent to the Parnassus campus, 145 Irving Street Project provides 18 units, two bedroom housing to single, post doctoral scholars and graduate/professional students. It is located in an existing high density residential district of single family town homes and apartments, in immediate proximity to the University, retail shopping and public transportation. Sustainable design practices ensure the building is energy efficient and environmentally responsible. It has been conceived as a “transit first” project, targeted to students without the need to add cars to the neighborhood. Its design addresses its urban context blending into the scale and character of the surrounding neighborhood.
