Developer:

Resources for Community Development

Aspen Court offers twelve apartment units for low-income persons with AIDS/HIV. Many of the residents, disadvantaged by illness and staggering medical costs, are formerly homeless, very low income persons that have left transitional support housing and are now able to live independently in a supportive and affordable community setting. The apartments, conveniently located near transit and a business district, are situated on a sloping, 1/2 acre site along a creek at the edge of a predominantly single family home neighborhood.

Pyatok Architects set out to create a warm, home-like environment with a distinctive lodge character to meet residents needs and distinguish the project in it's surrounding context. The architects worked with RCD and the neighborhood residents to advance the project beyond initial community resistance to its location and population served.
