The Central Station Master Plan incorporates a 27-acre area of West Oakland between the I-880 Frontage Road and Wood Street, and between 10th Street and West Grand Avenue. The master plan directs the transition of land-use from predominantly industrial to residential and mixed-use development. The project will extend the adjoining mixed-use neighborhood west to the freeway and create a vibrant new urban edge to the existing residential community. The Central Station Master Plan derives its name from the landmark and historically significant Southern Pacific Railway Station located at the center of the development area. |
