This master plan was implemented under HOPE VI housing development program in coordination with the Oakland Housing Authority's goals for re-development of the existing Coliseum Gardens housing area. The Pyatok Architects' Plan being used was selected through the process of a developer proposal competition. This Plan provides for construction of 415 new affordable rental apartment units within a gross site area of approximately 25 acres. It will be accomplished within three phases of construction providing two level town-home apartments over flats, central podium buildings accommodating town-home units and flats atop a grade-level parking garage and senior apartments.
