This former warehouse for the famous Jelly Belly jelly beans was converted by Pyatok Architects into a mixed-use office building, serving businesses as diverse as computer software, music recording, graphic design, accounting, social welfare, and publishing. A unique sculptural entry gate and exciting color scheme and planting were created to attract attention to the building and to enliven a rather somber industrial area. Pyatok Associates was responsible for the interior and exterior design as well as all office interiors and space planning. Spanned by a bow-string truss, the space allowed for the introduction of mezzanines and skylights. Office entries were clustered around a sequence of tall, skylit, central interior courts. |
