The Lord Tennyson Apartments, spread out over 15 acres, consisted of 26 buildings with 252 garden apartments and a host of amenities. Volunteers of America selected Pyatok Architects to design major renovations to the development including the apartments, common areas and facilities. These renovations included courtyards, play areas, a basketball court, barbecue facilities, and a new, expanded community center with a computer lab. The renovated apartments now offer enhanced kitchens and baths, new carpeting, doors and energy-efficient windows and lighting. The building roofs were replaced, the electrical systems were upgraded, and security systems were modernized. To increase energy efficiency throughout the development, all the apartments were converted to individually-metered utilities which could be monitored by each resident. Lush lancscaping added to the feeling of a revitalized and rejuvenated housing development for families and individuals. |
