This mixed-use project in the Chinatown district of Seattle is sited on a steep slope, with 50 residential apartments and 2500 s.f. of commercial space. The building is located in an historic district and an environmentally and culturally sensitive area, with a city park and community gardens located immediately to the north. The design respects the historic character of the district while simultaneously mitigating sunlight and view issues. The dwelling units are arranged around a five-story courtyard with family units as two-story townhomes, stacked above each other in two tiers. |
