Salinas Chinatown

In conjunction with local community members, the City of Salinas Redevelopment Agency, the Local Government Commission, Walkable Communities, California State University Monterey Bay, Pyatok Architects conducted a public design charrette process to produce a redevelopment plan for the Chinatown neighborhood. The process included a multi-day series of meetings, presentations and workshops that engaged key stakeholders including the Chinese community, the Japanese community, local elected officials, social service providers, low income and homeless residents, city and county staff, and property and business owners.
