Developed by two private non-profit organizations, this development provides an under-invested lower income neighborhood with welcome improvements: a community center-settlement house providing culturally-appropriate services to refugee and immigrant women and children, and 21 units of housing affordable to families below 50% and 30% of area median income. Four buildings of townhouses over flats are organized around two secured courtyards. These buildings are subdued in color, framing the entry to the site and the view up to the colorful civic/community building at the top of a rise in the land. The housing includes units for disabled persons, as well as transitional units for formerly homeless families.
