Wood Street Apartments, a residential mixed-use project, responds to the Wood Street Zoning District, to invigorate this neighborhood in West Oakland. The project consists of six acres to be developed in two phases, 301 units total. Phase One, 159 units, consists of one and two bedrooms flats and townhouses. The five-story garage at the center of each phase is concealed by housing wrapping it on all sides. Phase One includes significant commercial and community-serving space, and will use green site strategies for cooling, water and energy-use reduction.
