LATEST NEWS Repping BART TOD at El Cerrito’s Go Green Mobility Fair April 29, 2025

We were happy to soak in the fresh air and feedback last Saturday with Related California at the El Cerrito Plaza BART Station, discussing the station’s redevelopment master plan with area residents as part of the City’s Go Green Mobility Fair.

PYATOK Principal Kevin Markarian was on hand as architectural/planning/design representation of the TOD Master Plan. Approved by the City of El Cerrito last year, the plan details the phased transformation of the station’s 8.3 acres of surface parking into a mixed-use community including public plazas, 700+ homes, connections to the Ohlone Greenway, commuter garage, and potentially a public library. Groundbreaking is anticipated later this year on the project’s first phase, the 70-affordable-unit Parcel A South. Most visitors voiced their support for the construction of new homes for neighbors, community resources, and multimodal connections to and through El Cerrito.

Sponsored by the City of El Cerrito, the City of Berkeley, BART, ECRA Walk and Roll, and Bike East Bay, and timed with Earth Month and the imminent groundbreaking at the BART commuter lot, the Mobility Fair shared how the El Cerrito and North Berkeley community is transforming streets and neighborhoods into safe spaces, improving air quality, fighting climate change, and connecting people, and connected visitors with resources to reduce our carbon footprint.
