In 1984 in Oakland, CA, Mike Pyatok founded an architectural practice grounded in grassroots activism - and one that prioritizes a community's participation and agency in the design of their own homes. Today, the office carries these values forward, further developing our abilities to respect people and the environment, listen and collaborate, design with intent, share and inspire, and infuse joy - the essence of "people building."
