Curtis Caton, AIA
Principal (510) 465-7010 x105
Curtis is a Bay Area native and joined PYATOK 18 years ago specifically to work within a value-based organization that helps under-served people live in good homes and to design solid and equitable buildings that support their communities. He has since led dozens of award-winning residential projects that serve seniors, families, students and those with disabilities and special needs. With more than 25 years of housing experience, Curtis is an enthusiastic team player and relishes the opportunity to develop innovative projects that meet the unique requirements of each client’s program and site with an appropriate economy of means.

Curtis's passion for multifamily housing developed during his studies at the University of Colorado, Boulder where obtained his degree in environmental design. His expertise later expanded into student and university housing, and he has been instrumental in growing PYATOK’s portfolio in this housing type. His expertise in student housing, and those with special needs and accessible housing has led to speaking engagements at a number of Department of Justice Fair Housing seminars and at San Francisco Planning and Urban Research (SPUR).

Beyond being a project leader he has taken on the additional role as Chief Operations Officer and is responsible for the operations and management, and oversees the implementation of BIM, using Revit and office information systems. He is also an active member in the community participating in special programs with the Habitat for Humanity East Bay, Rebuilding Together Oakland, and the East Bay Housing Organization (EBHO). Outside the office Curtis finds pleasure in playing music and volunteering is time with VOENA, a children's choir and professional program in Richmond, CA.
