A native of eastern Oregon, Herminio developed an interest in architecture from his experience in construction. He would earn degrees from University of Idaho and University of Oregon - a first for his family. Herminio has designed market-rate and affordable housing across the Bay Area. Throughout, he has retained a builder’s appreciation of functionality in design. His approach is always considerate of those who will end up using the spaces - he strives to ensure accessibility and ease of use, both of the final projects and with project architects during design.

Herminio considers outdoor activities like camping, fishing, and soccer necessary for revival and inspiration. He has also visited some of the planet’s most architecturally inspiring places, including study abroad in Rome and travels to Mexico City and its environs.
