Readers of Affordable Housing Finance Magazine voted Hacienda Heights as best Public Housing Redevelopment in their 2023 Readers’ Choice Awards! AHF featured the project in a writeup, Developers Rescue a Property Deemed Uninhabitable, in August as part of their slate of finalists.

Competition was stiff as the 150-unit Richmond, CA, project was joined by three other impressive category finalists that have preserved and restored between 75 and 2,600 homes in Brooklyn, Boston, and Camden, NJ. At Hacienda Heights, Mercy Housing and Community Housing Development Corporation - with help from PYATOK and the design team - pulled off a years-in-the-making achievement.

This year, AHF identified 33 finalists from 145 entries. Magazine and newsletter subscribers then voted for winners in each category: Family; Historic Rehab; Mixed-Use; Permanent Supportive Housing; Preservation; Public Housing Redevelopment; Rural; Senior; and Urban. Category winners will be honored, and an overall winner announced, at AHF Live: The Affordable Housing Developers Summit, November 13-15 in Chicago.
