2023 HIGHLIGHTS December 21, 2023
As we say farewell to 2023, we took stock of our accomplishments from the year – and the ongoing impact we’ve been able to make for urban communities and project partners, as well as our staff:
- Five projects were completed and opened this year, delivering 365 new or renovated homes, amenities, and thoughtful urbanism for the communities of Seattle, San Jose, Santa Rosa, Healdsburg, and Stanford.
- Seven projects are currently in construction – affordable, student, and market-rate housing from Santa Rosa to Santa Monica that will create nearly 650 homes next year.
- Seven awards honoring our work in Palo Alto, Richmond, and Berkeley, and even winning construction funds for our first mass timber projects for the San Francisco indigenous community.
- One Net Zero project (calculated) under construction in Santa Rosa.
- Four new architects! Congratulations to Janey, Gabrielle, Chloe, and Chris! A quick survey of (one from) this cohort found that life as an architect "is better." Certainly having evening/weekend autonomy is a boon.
- Four new colleagues – it’s been a delight to get to know Dillon, Radhika, Sneha, and Sejal, and their varying levels of enthusiasm for dancing J
- Four Associate promotions from the top of the year: Anya, Ray, KJ and newly Senior Associate Rachael
- Two Diversity In Architecture interns, Aryana and Mary
- One colleague retiring: Theirry Roule, our Director of Construction Administration. Theirry’s been with PYATOK nine years and has made essential contributions to dozens of projects. Thank you Theirry, and enjoy this well-deserved break.
