LATEST NEWS - ARCHIVE VOTE! AIASF PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS THRU 6/16 June 11, 2021

The Choice is yours! As part of its annual design awards this year AIA San Francisco is including a People’s Choice Award, encouraging architecture fans to vote – as often as once a day – on their favorite projects in two categories: under and over $10M in construction cost. Votes can be cast at the awards’ People’s Choice gallery through Wednesday, June 16, with winners announced at the AIASF Design Awards Gala Wednesday, June 30, at 12 noon.

PYATOK has included four of our projects for the People’s Choice (see below). However, we encourage gallery visitors to peruse all of the great projects featured and choose their own path to celebrating design excellence!

Balboa Reservoir Design Standards and Guidelines, San Francisco The Balboa Reservoir Design Standards and Guidelines is a model of comprehensive community-oriented urban design, where landscape and architecture work together to connect residents to the natural setting and to link the surrounding commercial, residential, and institutional uses into a cohesive community around a new Reservoir Park.
Casa Arabella Affordable Housing in Okaland Casa Arabella is an affordable, four-story 94-unit transit-oriented development expanding the Fruitvale Transit Village in Oakland. The project is a mix of flats and townhomes for families and includes 20 units and services dedicated for formerly homeless U.S. veterans. The design creates an integrated, inward- and outward-facing community.
Jones Berkeley Mixed-Income Housing Jones Berkeley transforms a 1.7-acre industrial site along San Pablo Avenue into a vibrant five-story mixed-use project. The project weaves community throughout its public, common, and courtyard spaces, and carefully scales from stacked flats to townhomes facing residential West Berkeley.
St. Paul's Commons Permanent Supportive Housing On the grounds of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Walnut Creek, St. Paul’s Commons provides housing and services to extremely-low-income and formerly homeless individuals. The project includes 45 apartments above an expanded Trinity Center - homeless services and drop-in day center - and church-operated community spaces, all surrounding an open, shared-use courtyard.
