On Wednesday, PCBC named the SAHA-developed and PYATOK-designed Alta Madrone as the Gold Nugget Grand Award winner for Best Affordable Housing Community (under 30 DUA)!

Located in the city of Sonoma, Alta Madrone utilized a density bonus to infill a two-acre suburban site with 48 new homes for very-low- and extremely-low-income households. Apartments and townhomes are grouped in eight “house-sized” buildings, matching the neighborhood scale and echoing local vernacular. Consolidated parking allows for a verdant courtyard, garden, preserved Valley Oak trees, and pathways that encourage strolling and interaction. A community building provides shared spaces and services for residents, including for formerly homeless families and veterans.
