We are humbled to have The Village SF recognized by AIA East Bay with an Honors Award for on-the-boards design. The award was presented on November 3rd at AIAEB’s annual Design Awards Gala, held this year in person at the David Brower Center.
The award is particularly fitting given the 2022 theme, “Beyond: Celebrating design that honors the seen and the unseen.” The project, a coalition effort led by Friendship House, will deliver community services, cultural spaces, shelter, and visibility for the thousands of American Indians living in and near San Francisco. The project establishes a new model for environmental justice and sustainable urban living rooted in and indigenous wisdom and values.
We recently co-presented The Village at the Greenbuild Conference and Expo, and are continuing our work helping shepherd the project and the compelling vision it embodies into and through construction.
